Working/Expert Group

AMRO is an international organization that aims to contribute to securing the macroeconomic and financial resilience and stability of the ASEAN+3 region and its 14 member economies, comprising the 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and China; Hong Kong, China; Japan; and Korea.

The ACGS initiative is championed by the ROK and aimed to inspire and provide opportunities for young students in ASEAN, China, Japan, and the ROK who are gifted in science to pursue careers in science and technology and become future innovators and contributors to sustainable growth in their respective countries. Since the first ACGS Consultative Meeting that was convened on 11-12 April 2007 in Gyeongnam, ROK, the conduct of annual events such as Teachers’ Workshop and Student Camp; ASEAN Plus Three Junior Science Odyssey; and ACGS consultative meetings have been sustained.

At the 4^th ASEAN Plus Three Health Ministers Meeting in July 2010, the 13 Health Ministers expressed their support to further the development of networking among field epidemiology training programs among the ASEAN Plus Three Countries to heighten vigilance, preparedness, capacity, communication and collaboration. At the ASEAN+3 Expert Group on Communicable Diseases (AEGCD) Meeting in November 2010, Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health was endorsed to be the focal point for this important initiative. In January 2011, Program Directors and the Authorities of field epidemiology training programs in ASEAN Member States and Plus Three Countries coalesced in Bangkok to establish the ASEAN Plus Three Field Epidemiology Training Network (ASEAN+3 FETN). In October 2011, the first ASEAN+3 FETN Steering Committee Meeting successfully agreed on a working mechanism, strategies and activities under the four-year workplan (2012-1015).
