The 2nd DGICM + 3 Consultation was held in Phuket, Thailand on 10 August 2023. The Consultation was chaired by Police Lieutenant General Phakphumphiphat Sujjapan, Commissioner of Immigration Bureau of Royal Thai Police and attended by the Heads of Immigration and Consular Affairs Divisions of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the ASEAN Member States, China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea (ROK), as well as representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat.
The Consultation exchanged views on potential areas of collaboration within the DGICM + 3 framework in the areas of immigration, consular affairs, and border management. The ASEAN Member States expressed gratitude to the Plus Three countries for their assistance in enhancing cooperation on immigration-related capacity and capability in the region.
