The ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Transnational Crime (SOMTC) Work Programme is developed to implement the ASEAN Plan of Action to Combat Transnational Crime. The aim of the Work Programme is to provide policy guidelines as well as proposed activities for the effective implementation of the ten areas under the purview of the SOMTC namely: terrorism, illicit drugs trafficking, trafficking in persons, arms smuggling, sea piracy, money laundering, international economic crime, cybercrime, people smuggling, and illicit trafficking of wildlife and timber. These proposed activities range from information exchange, legal matters, law enforcement matters, capacity building, and extra-regional cooperation. The SOMTC Consultation with Dialogue Partners may be convened back to-back with the SOMTC Annual Meeting, where appropriate.
